El colectivo LGTBI francés lucha contra un enemigo invisible pero con un gran poder: el populismo. La moderación política ha sido derrotada por una derecha trasnochada e intolerante que hace una década no dejaba de ser una anécdota electoral.
Los resultados obtenidos por el Frente Popular de Marine Le Pen ha ido mejorando sus resultados en los últimos comicios. El partidoha cobrado tanto protagonismo en el panorama político del país galo que Nicolas Sarkozy ha prometido abolir el matrimonio igualitario si llega al poder con el ánimo de captar los votos homofóbicos que le devuelvan al Elíseo.
Ante esta enrevesada situación, aunque hay que recordar que la mayor parte de la población francesa muestra su apoyo al colectivo LGTBI, los avances legislativos logrados se tienen que celebrar por partida doble.
Este miércoles 12 de octubre, el Parlamento francés ha aprobado una nueva normativa de reconocimiento de género que acerca al país galo a otros países europeos como Dinamarca, Malta, Irlanda o Noruega.
En una jornada que ha sido celebrada con entusiasmo por el colectivo trans del país, la Asamblea Nacional ha actualizado el procedimiento de género que permitirá a las parsonas trans que no han pasado por el quirófano ni han iniciado el proceso de medicalización cambiar su nombre legal y su género en sus documentos de identidad.
Evelyne Paradis, Directora Ejecutiva de ILGA-Europa ha felicitado a la comunidad trans del país por la nueva norma:
