Un total de 118 personas trans han cambiado el nombre que figuraba en su tarjeta sanitaria desde la aprobación de la Ley LGTBI con la finalidad de que su identificación sanitaria esté de acuerdo con su identidad de género, informó ayer en un comunicado el Govern. Esta iniciativa afecta a la tarjeta sanitaria o al documento de asistencia sanitaria equivalente, así como a los registros clínicos, indicó la institución balear.

La Ley 8/2016, conocida como Ley LGTBI, establece que las administraciones públicas de las islas tienen que velar para que las personas sean tratadas en cualquier ámbito público por el nombre que las representa y por el género con el cual se identifican. Las personas interesadas pueden solicitar el cambio de nombre en la tarjeta sanitaria tanto en sus centros de salud como en los servicios centrales del Servicio de Salud. En los casos de los menores de edad, deben contar con la autorización del padre, de la madre o del tutor legal.
