Ése es precisamente el título de un reciente blog que recopila fotos enviadas por los lectores LGTB, y que muestran los incipientes signos de su identidad u orientación sexual ya en la más tierna infancia. La idea de su creador, motivado por la ola de suicidios de adolescentes LGTB en Estados Unidos, era dejar bien claro que la orientación sexual no es una opción, sino algo innato. En tan solo unas semanas el proyecto ha tenido un éxito meteórico.“Soy sencillamente uno de los muchos millones de personas abiertamente homosexuales y orgullosas de serlo que no eligieron ser homosexuales: ¡la homosexualidad me eligió a mí!”. Con estas palabras se define Paul V., el DJ detrás del blog ‘borngaybornthisway’ (‘nacido gay, nacido así’). Conmovido por los suicidios de tantos adolescentes LGTB (o percibidos LGTB) e inspirado por iniciativas como ‘The Trevor Proyect’ y el ‘It Gets Better’, Paul V. decidió aportar su granito de arena creando el blog el 9 de enero. Desde entonces, en apenas dos semanas, cientos de miles de personas han visitado algunas de las 180 historias -con su correspondiente foto- que Paul ya ha podido colgar (ha recibido muchas más, pero no da abasto).
Paul deja bien claro que las fotos recopiladas no pretenden ni mucho menos sostener que todos los niños gays son afeminados, o que todas las niñas lesbianas son masculinas. Según él, la idea “no es extender estereotipos. [...] Pero sí es una declaración en el campo de la Sociología. Porque ninguna persona LGTB ha elegido su orientación o identidad, como tampoco ninguna heterosexual lo ha hecho. Así que prestad atención, todos esos líderes religiosos o políticos que aún repiten esa mentira: ¡cerrad el pico! Y cuanto antes enseñemos a todos los niños que ser LGTB es tan normal (y biológico) como ser heterosexual, antes mejorará realmente la cosa, y podremos salvar las valiosas vidas de algunos jóvenes en el proceso. Éste es mi principal objetivo al mostrar vuestras fotos e historias”.
Se puede decir más alto, pero no más claro.
